Opening Reception / Beverly Fitzpatrick

WHAT'S MINE IS MINE
New Works by Beverly Fitzpatrick
Oct 29 - Nov 4

OPENING RECEPTION
Join us for the opening reception of Makeshift’s current resident artist, Beverly Fitzpatrick. Beverly uses collage, sculpture, and installation in an attempt to wryly articulate current socio-political anxieties. Through her characteristic mode of intricately crafted and surrealistic image-building, she skewers this contemporary theme with her familiar arsenal of cannibalized magazines, advertisements, and other appropriated imagery.

Gallery Talk with Lisa Walcott

Join us for an open conversation with artist Lisa Walcott as she talks about her exhibit Drafts, which will be on view through Thursday, September 1st. Lisa's sculptural installations and shorthand drawings are the result of an intimate awareness of domestic environments and exchanges – they are an attempt to make the intangible tangible, if only for a moment.

Makeshift's will open its doors at 5:30 in case you haven't had a chance to see the show. This event is free and open to the public so spread the word and bring a friend.
